So I'm shooting for a late Nov early Dec. GBS. I am close to being finished with half of the appointments... but I'm just getting excited for this new adventure to take place in my life. A few things I'm looking forward to is buying some cute clothes, being able to work out At the gym I will have access to when I have the surgery. Feeling confident and sexy! Maybe even getting to wear a cute two piece swim suit... fitting in a carnival ride with my kids. Not being squished into a airplane seat... ooo and how about this!!! When people say "you are so pretty for a big girl... you seriously could be a plus size model" thanks ass but u ain't small either 🤣

Looking forward to (hopefully) not having to shoot up insulin every time I want to eat something.

I'm also looking forward to being able to fit nicely into any cute clothes I find (H&M here I come!). My wallet... not so much [emoji23]

But mostly looking forward to having the energy to do all the things I want to do in a full day without feeling exhausted come 2pm.

Oh yes energy is a big plus!!! I feel like a need a nap in the afternoon... this one might be a little x rated so hopefully it doesn't offend anyone but trying some new sex positions... my husband and I have a great sex life now but I think it will get better with me being more confident[emoji51]

I feel like I could make such a huge list, but I'll share some of my top picks:

  • My husband to be able to pick me up
  • Go horseback riding again
  • Fit on roller coasters again
  • Comfortably fit in an airplane seat and lower the tray
  • Be more adventurous in the sack ;)
  • Shop at 'normal people' stores for clothes
  • Run farther distances without my hips hurting

There are so many things... shopping for new cloths bc the old ones don't fit anymore... my whole body not hurting at the end of the day... the energy to play with my 5 kids... going up and down stairs without being afraid my knee is going to buckle with every step... not taking 7 pills every morning when I get up. oh and not feeling like all regular bathroom stalls are made for kids because i barely fit!!!

It's something that I would love for him to be able to do! We're going to be buying a house next summer, and I'd love to be corny and have him carry me over the threshold haha.

I had my surgery earlier this week. I have a lot of weight to lose. So I'm setting lots of smaller goals so I don't get discouraged about how much I have to lose. My first goal is to be able to shop in 'regular' clothes stores.

How are you feeling? I'm curious what your stomach feels like after surgery??

I felt great after the surgery. I was on pain killers for about 8 hours and then didn't need them. It's hard to explain what my stomach feels like. Generally you can't feel it but when I go to drink or eat you feel full after just a few mouthfuls. 6 days out from surgery and I'm convinced this is the best decision I've ever made

I'm imagining like a burning sensation or something? But that is exciting to know you feel good!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
