Is my body done and happy?

Recommended Posts

I had the sleeve done on May 2nd. Starting weight was 214.4. I have been bouncing between 149-152 for the past month and a half. Can't lose anymore! I'm trying hard! Is my body happy where it is? I am very please with my weight loss. My goal is 140

The bigger question is are you happy? You can keep losing and you will if you stick with the program.

Congratulations, sounds like you have done amazing!

I do think that our bodies get plateaus where they feel "happy", but you will push past that eventually if you keep trying as hard as you are. But do you need or want to? I think it's probably best to go with what your BMI is and what your surgeon says, and of course what you think looks and feels good. If you are a healthy BMI and your surgeon is happy, then I don't see why you would need to keep going unless you really want to.

I had my surgery a month after you, weighed a pound more, and I'm stuck at 180 so you're doing awesome. Keep doing what you're doing and your body will eventually lose the weight. Maybe you need in up your Water? I know that's been working for me and kicked me out of my stall.

Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
