Being able to wear my wedding ring (or even the substitute rings I've bought over the years long after my original ring did not fit). My dear SIL asked me months ago how I kept the male attention at bay without my wedding ring. I just uncomfortably chuckled, too ashamed to tell everyone it hasn't fit me in years.

Yes! And I notice that I always hide behind other people in pictures. I'd like to not have to feel like I need to do that.

Me too!

Taking pictures without strategically placing my body and running.

Consider what you will gain; instead of what you are giving up.

1. BRAS!!! Since I've been pretty chunky since before puberty, I dont actually know what my true cup size is. Cant wait to get to a stage that I can get fitted AND buy pretty bras from a regular retail store.

2. Same goes for clothes. Im ready to not have to pay double the cost for trendy clothes. Don't get me wrong, I love Torrid and Cato but Target sells the same stuff for smaller sizes for half the cost.

3. Can't wait to take a vacation and sit in an airplane seat without worrying that the seatbelt wont fit or being uncomfortable because my hips are squeezed in.

4. Also getting off medications for fatty liver and diabetes is a plus ;P

Im so excited for all of us!!!

Skiing with my family. I haven't consistently for many years because I just didn't fit into ski pants comfortably. I bought a huge size last winter. Went out. Fell. And because where I fell was not too steep I could not get up for the life of me. Someone came by and helped me. Pretty embarrassing. Not too mention the anxiety I had skiing because of how unfit I was. I loved skiing. I want to feel the freedom, confidence and speed again. I don't want to sit in the lodge by myself. I want to make memories with my kids.

What do they have you taking for fatty liver? I am just wondering cause I have fatty liver and my GI doc was dead serious about five years ago when I was diagnosed that if I did not lose weight that in 10 years I would have cirohsis (can't spell that for the life of me) and he had me taking Vitamin E supplements but never mentioned any other medication. They follow my liver enzymes every three months. Just one other reason why I am looking forward to getting this weight off.

You are on your way to getting new bras and everything else you mentioned! :) I am excited for all us of also!

Fitting more comfortably in an airplane seat!

I'm looking forward to my self esteem coming back. After a lot of stressful events going back 20 years I started packing on the pounds and growing less active and more depressed. After a long battle with cancer I lost my husband in 2008. Then estate problems, IRS, loss of employment, TEENAGERS, major move and more. I turned to food for comfort and just wanted to hide from the world. for me I'm looking at this as my New Beginning. Finally ready to let go of the pain and not just live my life but Thrive.
So grateful for you all. Being here is inspiration.

Im on Pioglitatozole (generic); I used to take Actos ( brand) but it doesn't make a difference for me. I don't know if i truly needed it but i had an aggressive endocrinologist who told me that i needed to get the sleeve ( about 50lbs ago) and that i was going to have cirrhosis in 6 months. She put me on metformin and actos and Vit. E 800 to combat the insulin resistance and liver issues as they go hand in hand. I had a hepatologist that said that it wasnt so bad but i still take the generic version of all the meds 3 years later.

I dont go to the endocrinologist anymore as she was actively increasing my stress levels but she's the reason that bariatric surgery was even in my realm of possibilty. So hopefully ill be off some of the meds shortly!

[emoji6]. Now I'm laughing a little. Between me and my husband (I remarried) we have 3 sons who are all 20 this year and finally in college. I'm having Gastric Bypass Wednesday the 6th....in 3 days. I'm nervous but mostly excited!!! I was set for the sleeve but my GERD is so bad the doctor recommended Bypass. How about you??

SIX MONTHS! Wowza, that must have made you think OH CRAP. Maybe that is why he only said for me to take the Vitamin E cause I was already on the metformin. I am type 2 diabetic and so I am on metformin but not insulin, thankfully. I will be headed that way, as my mother and many of my other family members have. I took Actos once which was from my endocrinologist and it made me SO tired - I am not sure he believed me but I swear it did make me tired and so I quit taking it. My endocrinologist is this amazing and laid back and is all for weight loss surgery but we tried a few things before that for prescription weight loss pills but then I lost but gained it back and honestly I did not like how they made me feel. But my GI doctor makes me nervous and he was the first to mention the weight loss surgery. He makes me nervous cause he will get on to me about my liver levels and maybe that is why my blood pressure is so high when I go see him lol! What can I say?? I really like cheese and I try to pick foods that are not carbs but that means I eat a lot of meat and I am sure that does not help the fatty liver. Good for you for taking charge of your health and one of my dreams is to be off medication as well - so I totally understand.

I have a doctor for just about every issue I have but I havent ever been to a hepatologist.

CPAP - I have not even been using it as I should! One more thing I would like off my list too because you know how sexy it is to wake up to darth vader (what I feel like, not saying that is what you are).

Ya'll I keep changing my user name so I am not that easily found. So bare with me while I get it figured out. lol

@ALotLessMe i'm having sleeve on 12th in London. my mum had bypass last November and is doing great although has rather a cavalier attitude to sticking to the rules and regulations (she's 75 maybe that's part of why). i'm looking forward to it all, worried about mixing work with recovery as i'm not going to take much time off - i have my own business. but it is relatively quiet at the moment so should be okay.

Glad to hear you mom is doing so well. That's great you have someone in your family to experience this with. I'm planning on following the diet strictly until I reach my goal. Will be Soo worth it to have more energy and wear cute clothes again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
