But generally they want you to fast before a fill. I would't eat anything in the morning. Basically they don't want anything stuck in your band when you go for a fill. Which we all know can take hours for something to pass. Good luck with your fill. If you get woozy at all with needles make sure you let the doctor know before hand. wannabthin 0 Posted October 14, 2007 I haven't had my first fill yet, but my Dr. requires you to fast before you go in for a fill. But everyone's Dr is different.
janiee 0 Posted October 14, 2007 My doctor requires a liquid diet on the day of the fill. (Before the fill and then 12 hours after the fill) And don't worry it just feels like a little pinch :Banane10: Good Luck!!
cfred 2 Posted October 14, 2007 Of course every Dr is different but my doctor says no food or drink 4 hours prior to the fill. Then after the fill he will let you know now long of a liquid diet to stay on. I've been on a liquid diet afterwards anywhere from 24 hours to 4 days. I think it just depends on the restriction you get.
Wheetsin 714 Posted October 14, 2007 No restrictions by my doctor before the fill, just after. I opt to go without eating or drinking that day. It really shouldn't matter, they're probably wary of having the stoma irritated, and that impacting the fill. I don't eat/drink because I want the scale to represent my weight, not how thirsty I was or how big of a meal I ate. :Banane10:
coltonwade 27 Posted October 14, 2007 I have to be on liquids the day of the fill , if your fill is at 2 , I would not eat when you get up and call and ask them . Or can you find anyone on the boards that has the same doc you do and see what his policy is ?? Mindy
mrspruett 0 Posted October 14, 2007 My doc also suggests full liquids the day of a fill and mushies the day after.
Daisalana 33 Posted October 14, 2007 My doctor doesn't tell me to do anything special for fills. I normally eat the inside of an Arby's sandwhich on our way there.

He requires me to stop drinking one hour before the fill. He specifically recommend drinking Protein shakes to help deal with hunger.

beversman 0 Posted October 15, 2007 My doc just says no food for two-four hours before... the pouch will be cleared out by the time you do the fill.
