Kiri007 6 Posted August 22, 2017 I'm your surgery twin. Mine is in a couple of hours - it's the 22nd where I am. Good luck. 1 Iona reacted to this
Kiri007 6 Posted August 25, 2017 How did you go? How are you now? I'm not feeling too bad at day 3 post surgery. Came home yesterday, and have just been resting, dozing and watching TV. I've found I tolerate warm drinks better than cold ones. Managed about 35 FL.oz of liquid today, but only one of them was a Protein Drink. I'm so grateful that I had very little nausea, did have bad pain for the first few hours after surgery, till me a few hours to get stable in recovery. How are you? 1 Iona reacted to this
Iona 23 Posted August 27, 2017 The surgery went well! I had some breathing problems directly after, but they sorted them out in the recovery room and it's been getting better every day since. Came home on day 3, I was so ready to be out of the hospital! Not a lot of nausea for me, mostly my irritation is the gas. That and not over-exerting myself. I don't have a lot of real pain, so it's very easy for me to over do it and then be completely wiped out for a day. Missy161 395 Posted September 6, 2017 How are you feeling now? I also had oxygen issues and had to come home on it, but was off within a couple of weeks. Congrats on your surgery!Mich WHw 223, SW 217 CW 185 GW
Iona 23 Posted September 7, 2017 I'm feeling pretty good. Loving eating solid food, feel like a real person again. Learning to listen to my new stomach and what the new sensations mean. My blood sugar has been pretty great since about day 3, no medications. I'm having very few issues with food tolerance, but it's comforting now that I'm on solid food and can feel the restriction. I was having so little issue taking in liquids I was worried the surgeon didn't actually do the surgery, lol! Now that I'm eating solid food I'm struggling to get in enough liquids, but it's getting better. Thank you, and congrats on your success so far!
