Did anyone bring or take GasX thin strips to the hospital? Do they work? I hear about a lot of people taking that for Gas pains but I can't seem to find them anywhere. So far wherever I checked they only had the chewables or the gels. Does anyone know where someone can get these from? I am getting sleeved tomorrow and would like to have them on hand in case I need them. Thank you!

I took them to the hospital. I used one. Walking worked better than anything. Of course, I moved at the pace of snail, but each step was still better than the strips. I simply picked them up at like Target or CVS, maybe Walmart? Good luck with your surgery!

They will only help once the gas is in your bowels. It will not help when the gas is in your body cavity. Walk, walk, walk, and the gas x could come in handy at some point.

Funny, I really didn’t think they work but my surgeon’s office recommended getting them too so maybe I’ll try Amazon if I can’t find them nearby.

Ok so I keep hearing about the gas they put in your body to help with the surgery and that you need to start walking asap after surgery, to walk the floor at the hospital... And I just need to know.. does that mean I'm gonna be farting up and down the hallway??! [emoji54] lol I just need to know!

Boy am I gonna have a hard time with this!
I have an issue with passing gas around others. Even if they're in another room! It took me 4 yrs. to feel comfortable to do this around my husband! Those hallways better be empty or I'm saving it until I get home! Bahahaha

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
