It's looking like 9.25.17 might be a go! Trying to stay positive! Yeah.... the liquid diet is no fun at all. Kicking coffee is worse for me..... I've drank it since I was born....well, a long time! lol Try to take it easy, try deep breathing & meditate, read a book or just try something new. Did you start a journal of this new chapter in your life? ................... This too will pass, as they say! ................... Praying for you! [emoji5]

Great! Wishing you all the support and encouragement and success!

Hello everyone! I am new to this blog as of 3 min ago. I want to start off by saying, prayers for all who will be getting sleeved in the near future. I know you will do well. As for me, my sleeve was scheduled for today but got postponed until Sept 6th because the Dr. is on vacation. I'm actually having my lap band removed and converting into the sleeve. My lap band experience was horrible and the acid reflux I developed from the band was not worth it. So I decided to convert to the sleeve hoping to get better results. I never lost much weight with the band. I've started my liquid diet 3 days early with yesterday being my first weighing in at 223 lbs. Yesterday was a struggle. Today was better so far. Is there anyone else on their 2 week pre op liquid diet? Would love to hear your experience thus far and any pointers from being bored with the same foods.

I am on the last leg of my preop diet. Endoscope on Friday and surgery is on Monday 8/28. This has been a rough 2 weeks.

8/21 sleeved. I'm doing okay. First night was horrible b/c the pain meds made me dry heave over and over and that doesn't feel great with stomach incisions. Oh yeah, my nurses tried to give me crackers to make me less nauseous. Whaaaat? Probably wouldn't have killed me (maybe?) but just the fact that they knew so little about me and my surgery was scary. My doctor doesn't allow anything, not even ice chips the first day. That sucked too. Anyway, at home now trying to adjust to my new life. Really sick of crystal light, can't stomach broth and I've always hated Jello. Just trying desperately to not get dehydrated. Also having a hard time finding comfortable positions to sleep.
How is everyone else???

8/15 sleeved. Doing ok. Continuing with Protein Shakes, yogurt and Soups. Realized some cream soups are high in sodium and carb so trying to be more aware of them. Been sleeping on loveseat recliner since I came home because I am a side/stomach sleeper and though I wasn't restricted, prefer sleeping on an angle right now. Do you like yogurt? Once I came home my dr let me introduce yogurt and thicker soups.

Best of luck to everyone! 👍🏻😁

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
