Anna Banana 555 0 Posted October 14, 2007 You can probably have it now, my doctor gave me yoghurt the first meal after my surgery which is about the same consistency as pudding, should be fine.
Daisalana 33 Posted October 14, 2007 I had pudding the first week post-op.
stacy73 2 Posted October 14, 2007 depends on your dr- i couldn't have any until week 3.
WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted October 14, 2007 It completely depends on your doc's post op diet. If you are doing clears then absolutely not. If you are doing full liquids you can usually have anything that will go through a straw. pudding wouldn't typically go through a straw so that might have to wait for soft foods. Please, don't mess with your doc's post op diet. It's really quite critical for a lot of reasons.
Daisalana 33 Posted October 14, 2007 Sounds like your doctor didn't give you guidelines on paper with examples? I had every week spelled out for me, with examples of food (and some weeks the ONLY food) I could have during that time period. Popsicles, pudding, yogurt, broth were ok my 1st week. If you didn't get any guidelines from your doc (or maybe he only told them to you and you forgot), you should call and ask them.
