Surgery went amazing!

Recommended Posts

Had my surgery at 1:30pm and my surgeon said I did amazing! The lord had is hand on me! I was scared a little bit but the anesthesiologist gave me something to calm my nerves. I had the chills and a lot of back pain due to the gas but I was able to get up and walk around the first hour I was back in my room and go pee without any help lol (TMI) but I can't wait for this journey to a new and healthy lifestyle! Prayers for you upcoming sleevers, you've got this!

Thank you Dr. paya at west hills hospital in Los Angeles ca.

Congratulations!

I had mine done on 8/4/2017, and I'm only 16. I was upset and nervous going in and on top of that, they couldn't get the IV to thread correctly and ended up getting a swollen arm and now I have major bruises!

It was worth all the trouble! I'm done 21 pounds!

Yes get it! Congrats! I think cause I've been sleeping all day mostly is why I'm up at 3 am right now lol.... but my left arm is pretty beat up too because they had to do more blood drawn when I got here and then my IV but it's worth it! And I'm 22 so we're both young and hopefully our bodies heal up nice! Good luck on your journey! [emoji173]️

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
