kmanddj 0 Posted August 18, 2017 Im 5 weeks out of surgery and have been doing great, maybe a lil too good lol. There has been about 4 times where i feel like theres something stuck in that area where your ribs meet . the pain can progress up my esophagus. Tonight i ate 2 ounces of rotisserie chicken and i could feel pain coming again, except this was worse than other times and to the point where i got nauseated. after 10 minutes of this i simply made myself puke and i instantly felt better. One time i do fine/perfect with a certain food then next time i eat it, this might happen. Im trying to take smaller bites, chew food better but as many know its a hard habit to break but I AM TRYING. Whats some of your opinions on this. Plus first time ive had foamies too since surgery. just makes no sense to me cause i ate beef Jerky 2 days ago and this didnt happen.
Diana_in_Philly 1,426 Posted August 18, 2017 You are eating too fast and not chewing enough. Slow down. Cut one tiny piece of food. Put it in your mouth. Chew 25-40 times. Put your fork down. Do not cut a second piece. Wait 40-60 seconds before taking your next bite. That's why you feel like you are going to puke. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this

shedo82773 1,236 Posted August 19, 2017 Welcome to our world or I should say my world. I am 4 years out and I still do exactly that. My body doesn't seem to know that 1 more bite might be too much!! LOL I have started eating way too fast. I don't enjoy eating and sometimes it feels like a hassle. If you slow down and chew chew and you still have this going on you might want to tell your DR. Strictures are the pits but they really are an easy fix. They just do a Endoscope with a Balloon to open it back up. They are somewhat like scar tissue and close off your stoma food and the Water felt like the food just sat on top of my tummy. I'm happy things are going so well for you!! Berry78 4,261 Posted August 19, 2017 I agree.. a stricture could be getting started. Let your surgeon know what has been happening. Hopefully it's nothing... good luck!
James Marusek 5,244 Posted August 19, 2017 The transition to hard foods such as chicken and steak can be difficult. There is no need to rush things, just take your time. 2 Berry78 and heycrystal2052 reacted to this
