Drink 2 bottles of magnesium citrate and do an enema. I dropped 7 lbs the night before surgery when I did that for my cleanse lol jk I don't recommend that. I think cutting calories and exercising would help. But honestly, don't do anything dangerous or drastic just to get that date of surgery...you could always postpone surgery for the week after or two weeks later so you can lose 6 lbs the right way.

My surgery is on the 12th and I have to drop at least 10lbs. I am doing all of these for meals and Snacks and its been helping. Don't go crazy on just liquids because you are going to hate liquids when you are post op and then it makes it more difficult to get them in. Trust me everyone that I've spoken to that are succeeding said that going full liquids without being asked to by their doc weeks before surgery had alot of problems post op.

You can also use an unflavored Protein Powder to make Protein Shakes, sometimes the pre made shakes get to sweet and you can use natural fruit, some 6 oz milk, and a cup of skim milk or almond milk.

The liquid diet will almost guarantee you lose 6lbs. I would bet on more if you do it for 3 weeks. Be aware that you will be moody around the 48-72 hour mark of starting this as your body goes into ketosis but otherwise you will be fine. I was required to do a liquid diet for 2 weeks before surgery. I lost 20+lbs in those 2 weeks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
