Has any body used Dr Francisco Zavlza with Go Light bariatrics? also has anyone with the sleeve had to have their gallbladder removed?

We haven't had any experience with GO LIGHT or the DR. But my hubby had his gallbladder removed during his failed revision from Lap Band to a RNY. He didn't have any problems. But now with his Sleeve he gets the BACK DOOR TROTS constantly. I'm sure the gallbladder being removed has something to do with that because almost every woman in my family have had theirs removed and it is the same for us all. But...the SLEEVE also has the same effect if he eats to much fat or to much sugar. Are you getting your gallbladder taken out? Having gallbladder trouble is real common with WL peple. Good Luck!!

I had my lap band removed last month exploring doctors to do possible sleeve . A nurse @ my doctors office today for my band removal check up had told me you should have your gallbladder removed during your sleeve or you will end up with problems so I'm curious as this is the first I've ever heard of it

I know of quite a few Bariatric people that their DR's usually suggest they have it removed because it does seem to go bad with the fast weight loss. In fact, my hubby's DR. that put his Lap Band in started him on a medication to help prevent his Gallbladder from going bad. It didn't work to good. I had already had mine out years ago so I didn't need to have mine removed. Been there done that!!!

Had the sleeve 10 months ago. No gallbladder problems at all.

I will admit, that was the only real worry I had. Thankfully, my gall bladder, almost two years later, seems to be just fine. I don't see why it would be done during the process of the surgery, why remove something that's not broken. Ya know?

Hello, I'm suppose to have mine removed during the sleeve surgery. My doctor said it's best to remove it now so there won't be problems later. My test showed that I had gallstones. Lol the doctors said he's just going to puck it out of me....

I'm glad my doctor did not suggest that. If someone is already having issues with their gallbladder, he will remove it. But if not, he won't. And I'm over 8 months out, and have had no problems with my gallbladder. Why go through extra pain when there's nothing wrong?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
