Has anyone changed jobs during the pre-op stage of surgery? I currently work in hospital registration. My hours lend well to me having morning appointments whenever I need to. It would not be an issue for me to take time off to recover from surgery either. I've also met my deductible and have only $500 left on my out of pocket.

Today I had two back to back interviews at a health insurance company. Before I left the interview, I was asked to interview with two more mangers (2 other positions). I also was contacted today by another insurance company to do a video interview. If I get the job with the company that I video interview with, taking time off won't be an issue. I would work from home. The issue I would have is needing to take time off 6 months down the road after being newly hired at the other company. Has anyone experienced this? How did they handle it? Did they have to start the insurance process over again? Did they let management know up front that they might have a procedure in the near future?

Not sure on the insurance aspect. I would assume that if insurance doesn't change then that wouldn't be a problem. But I am a hiring manager and the more up front and honest you are with whomever is doing your interview the more they will like you. Just tell them the situation.
