I bought whey Protein Powder and thought it would be a good idea to put it in my cup of morning coffee, however, it alters the flavor, even after adding Creamer. The weird thing is it says it's unflavored. What are some of best items food/drink to put this Protein powder in? If you have a suggestion for a better protein powder to buy as well it would be appreciated.

I had that same issue and ended up returning the powder, I paid a decent amount for the container. I gave up on powders at a certain point and eventually, went to liquid Proteins. I will make a shake and add Protein to it, but I mostly get my protein from Premier (bars and shakes) or through eating. I mostly prefer to eat my protein, there are some days where I'm just not in the mood, on those days, I revert back to bars.

I love their products, but they can be a pretty penny. When I make shakes, I use one of their products per the taste I'm in the mood for that day. Yum!

I love using the Isopure unflavored in broths. (Make sure the broth isn't more than about 130-140 degrees or it will clump. I also use reduced sodium Better Than Bouillon + the Protein for a quick meal some days. Also, I have added it to a little V-8 then warm it until it's a Tomato Soup thing...but I'm not sure if V-8 is legal from a sugar perspective? I also have added it to pot roast and other pan drippings to make a protein broth for me. I hear you can add it to low carb milk, cottage cheese, and Greek yogurt to up the protein content.

Per 11 fl oz bottle, vanilla: 160 calories, 3 g fat (1 g saturated fat), 270 mg sodium, 4 g carbs (1 g Fiber, 1 g sugar), 30 g protein

Commonly used in over-processed breads, DATEM (DiAcetylTartaric acid Esters of Monoglycerides) is used as a shelf-stabilizing emulsifier in both dough and Protein Shake applications, as protein powder is notoriously difficult to mix with Water. Unfortunately, this additive is often made from artery-clogging partially hydrogenated oils, which the FDA will ban from food products starting in June 2018. Premier Protein responded to us and said their DATEM is only made from fully-hydrogenated oil—but why use it in the first place, when so many others don't?

Hold up wait a minute, let me put a "WHAT O.o" in it! Have you seen this?

You know what? This P*SSES me off so dearly!!! I used to be a food purist and it nearly drove me and Mr. Fluffy cra-cra. So I had to take a chill pill and climb down off the ledge. Now I'm a near-hedonist and pretend I don't see some things, cuz my budget is beyond tight these days. But the one thing I'm still purist about is bad fats (i.e. transfats and super esterified fats). Sigh. I had not seen this about the Premier Protein, which leads me to believe that perhaps all of the creamy RTD Proteins have it? I use it cuz it's one of the only Protein Drinks that also uses Protein concentrate, rather than protein isolate. That's important to me, cuz they don't seem to be quite so insulinogenic on me, since they don't hit my blood stream so quickly. But now that I know about the partially hydrogenated oils=transfats=bulltothesh*txinfinity, I am gonna have to kick these to the curb.

Same here, I'm so bummed. Let me share the link w/ you, there are others that look yum, and are on their good list. Well, I guess I'm returning my case of Premier back to Sam's :(

Thanks girl! From this list, it doesn't look like any of the RTD drinks are gonna be any good from my perspective. The only one that would work is Skinny Girl and the reviews on it suck. The sodium is crazy high and it only has about 16g protein/11fl.oz.. :( I'm major bummed right now. All the others have soy (which I can't have cuz of hormone + BC), or are too high carb/sugar. Like maybe in mourning over it...le sigh.

I feel you on that one, this is the one Liquid Protein I actually enjoy. powders, if I use them, I tend to deal with on the weekends. Welp, there's that!

My question regarding the BP RTD, is what does the "non dairy creamer" have in it? My experience with non-dairy Creamers are they that because of the "nature of the beast," they all have some kind of nasty fat in them? Maybe that's where the DATEM lives? I just double-checked the Premier Protein and sure enough, right in the middle of the ingredients is DATEM. :( Well, guess I will only do the Isopure powders and Syntrax Nectar powders (and yes I have to close my eyes about Acesulfame Sulfate and Sucralose). :(

I used PREMIERPROTEIN drinks for my 2-week pre op and then my 4-week postop. I had "THE BACKDOOR TROTS" so bad I couldn't leave the house!! If I went anywhere there had better be a bathroom available. Also, I had the hugest pad made on. Come to find out I am Lactose Intolerant. But I wasn't advised of this until I had finished it all. Nice Dr, I had!! Now it is the GENEPRO unflavored all the way. I use it in my Espresso every day. Before you decide to try it read the good bad and ugly on it. There are some who don't believe in what they claim. Good Luck finding one that agrees with you.

I like Premier Protein RTD. I am sure we all got fat eating ALL the 'right' food <sarcasm> and 4 weeks of some Protein Drink is going to doom us all!!!

I also like Isopure blue raspberry, but it is pricey. I also like Jay Robb powder.

I use the Isopure with Water and about 1/2 of the suggested serving or less of the Bolthouse Farms smoothies, just to get some flavor. You really have to use the ones lower in calories and sugars otherwise the sugars are too much. Then add water to thin it out to your taste.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
