G33kg1rl 36 Posted August 15, 2017 My incisions itched at about a week out . . . I took it as a sign that they were healing. I kind of very gently scratched around them, which seemed to help. 2 HopeFaith and Strivingforbetter reacted to this
HopeFaith 15 Posted August 15, 2017 My incisions itched I would 'scratch' around them and I gently rubbed coconut oil (a dab on my finger) where I 'scratched'. It stopped my itching daily - worked for me.
heycrystal2052 430 Posted August 15, 2017 I had the same issue, I just lightly rubbed them for about the first week. Afterwards, things seemed to mend themselves.
Strivingforbetter 247 Posted August 15, 2017 I had the same experience. It didn't last too long, maybe a week or so. I didn't do anything to help with the itch and just endured it.
SIPS in Seattle 345 Posted August 15, 2017 Thanks everyone. The itching is driving me batty and even making it hard to sleep. I'll try giving a little rub of coconut oil between the battle wounds (lol) Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17HT: 5'6 HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 217 GW: TBD
ssflbelle 829 Posted August 15, 2017 I didn't have any itching after my surgery but 1 1/2 years later I itched and scratched my left leg so badly last night. It was driving me crazy so I applied some avenoo lotion. That hurt stung my leg really badly so I washed it off. Then applied Aquaphore healing ointment on it and also took some Benadryl. I had throbbing and shooting leg pain when I went to bed. I had to apply the ointment 3 times today and this evening it is looking better.

I've always been sensitive to bandaids and such so until these buggers fall off... I'm using ice packs to help. GassyGurl 428 Posted August 16, 2017 Yes! I have a nice bright red itchy line under my bust. Someone suggested it's the betadine like stuff used to clean our bellies during surgery. I'm using steroid cream, and it might be a little better. Sent from my XT1254 using BariatricPal mobile app

I get two weeks of diflucan from my doc and rub the otc yeast cream twice a day. It super sucks having such sensitive skin. Twonky 10 Posted August 22, 2017 I take Zyrtec daily and it really helps with itching. If I don't take it, I get hives. I'm sensitive to adhesives, too, but it wasn't too bad for the first 20 hours or so after a Zyrtec. 1 GassyGurl reacted to this
GassyGurl 428 Posted August 22, 2017 If you're having all over itching, Zyrtec is the ticket! Mine cleared up with steroid cream. Sent from my XT1254 using BariatricPal mobile app
