I had a little a few months back. I won't even try now. The seaweed and sticky rice would be a problem. I did eat a little (couple tablespoons) of fried rice earlier this week. I just had another fill (my 6th) yesterday so I'm pretty tight right now.

Just wondering if anyone has been able to eat Sushi?

I LOVE sushi, especially maki sushi with the seaweed wrap and the sticky rice. I'm afraid to try it (although I'm on fluids now anyway). I think I'll have to try to lean towards sashimi instead - but not sure how chewing it to death will taste raw... Sounds disgusting thinking about it!

I can still eat it in a smallish quanity.

If I"m out I try to go sashimi because I figure the fish is better for me than lots of rice.

But we make sushi, just nori rolls at home because the kids absolutely LOVE it and its a good weekend lunch that's healthy but also a treat for them. I can usually eat 4 or 5 pieces.

Try asking for soy bean paper instead of seaweed. It has been fine for me so far but who knows what will happen when i get my second fill. I sure hope that I can eat sushi!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
