Getting to know you...

Thanks for the reply Brenda. I went to visit with Dr. Ameri again today. I'm all scheduled for Jan 14th and ready to go. This 2 week pre-op liquid thing isn't much fun, But I'll get through it. Also, after talking to Dr Ameri, I was surprised that he gives the 1st fill a full 12 weeks post-op. It seems many on this board get their first fill within weeks. I was wondering what your experience has been with Dr Sandor? And yes, I'd love to meet for a coffee sometime or join you to a local support meeting. Keep in touch. Thanks

Suzanne

Hi Tracie:

I am a patient of Dr. Adam Glasgow. Can't say enough good things about both Dr. Adam and Dr. Arthur. Their staff is very good too.

Let me know if you have any questions. I'm considering myself to be an experienced bandster at this point, but I'm still in my rookie year.

Hi Lori Ann:

I go to Dr. Adam Glasgow. Dr. Arthur has helped me a couple of times when I had minor problems. They're both very nice. Maybe I'll see you at support group some time in the future.

Hope all of the testing and surgery goes smoothly for you.

I live in Norwood, so we're practically neighbors.

Take care.

Sue

Hello all,

Just thought I'd make this my first stop and my first post. I am 51 and living in Blackstone, MA. We moved here from Michigan almost 2 yrs ago. I am in the very beginning stage of exploring this option to once and for all making some permanent changes. I will be going to an informational seminar at Brigham & Women's hospital next week Tues 1/22.

Hi Vicky I was banded at the Brigham on 11-13. I think you have a choice btw three surgeons. All are exceptionally skilled and the nursing on 10 was awesome!

You can call Dr Ameri's office to set up an appointment. His # is

(781) 662-2288. He is excellent. Also he has a meeting on Feb 12th from 7-9pm at the Jenks Center in Winchester. It is very informative and open to anyone. It's worth going to.

I went to a lapband meeting to see if I was interested. Dr. Sandor has one every month - the last wednesday of the month in Winchester (off Swanton St, near the Sons of Italy hall). There is one tomorrow (JAN 30TH)- from 6-8pm... 6-7pm is "new orientation" and from 7-8pm is a support group, but you're more than welcome to stay and ask questions.

Dr. Ameri has one @ the Jenk's Center across from Winchester High the 2nd tuesday of every month. I would suggest going to both, and see if one of the surgeon's "clicks" with you.

They are BOTH wonderful, experienced surgeons.

feel free to email me for any more details.

Brenda

Hello Everyone!

I am Mary from Worcester, and I've had my band for two years! (And LOVED every minute of it!) I am scheduled for plastic surgery to get rid of my huge panni on March 7 and I just can't believe I'm at that phase of my journey!! This site has been a lifeline for me over the past few years and I'm grateful for everyone who shares!

Hi Mary:

I'm from Norwood, MA. Can you please keep us posted on your plastic surgery?

I have a few questions. I will probably need this surgery too. Does your insurance cover the panni? If not, how much is your surgery going to cost? How much recovery time is involved - meaning how long do you have to be out of work?

I'll pray for your quick recovery.

Take care.

Sue

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
