Yes make those calls especially to the big hospitals but also consider the support you actually could get from a go fund me page. It takes a lot of courage and humility and you will probably be surprised at who steps up to help you and support your desire to take charge of your health. You could even say this could be structured as a loan if you want but if you are willing to go to any lengths I am sure there are people who love you and want to help!! Good luck!!

One more option, there is a card called CARE CREDIT that you can apply for. It covers anything medical. Heck, my little dog needed knee surgery and I used this card. I bought my contacts with it. So it is very versatile. Never give up something will come up. When you decide to persue this further have your Surgeon's office turn in all of the information because they do this all of the time so they know what insureances want and need. So sorry this is happening hang in there.

Thanks!! I guess it's just the embarrassment of feeling like I can't loose the weight on my own and need a proc dure like this.. people might think I'm just a binge eater and lazy and might not want to help... I guess I just need to trust God i believe my problem was allowing discouragement to overpower me when I know God can open a door for me ... i just need faith and a few works to experience his promises to my life thank you all again

I know -- I have had Shame my whole life w my weight and how critical my parents and other people were as well. But w weight everyone can see it. Can't hide. But also know there is a a lot of support out there. I also suggest asking on some other discusssions to find People from your state etc and also you are obviously a person of faith. I have been a member of Overeaters Anonymous for many years and it has helped me a lot. It def saved my life when I first started. It's a 12 step program like AA but for food. I just had my sleeve on July 31st and dont see why both things can't worjk together at once !! Good luck!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
