graziellabs 28 Posted August 13, 2017 Has anyone had any problems with sushi after surgery? I obviously mean months and months down the line like 7/8 months down the line. I am just wondering out of curiosity.
Berry78 4,261 Posted August 13, 2017 Lots of peeps have sushi early.. like 6 or 8 weeks. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Always go slow the first time.
Allie589 171 Posted August 13, 2017 My dietician told me to make sure whatever I try for the first time like this, to try it at home, just in case we don't handle it so well. I cannot wait for sushi!
AZLoser 103 Posted August 13, 2017 Sashimi after 2 months out should be ok if you don't overdo. Sushi with rice is probably off limits for me until I reach goal. Very high cal and carbs, 1 LuluHeffernan reacted to this
jess9395 5,449 Posted August 13, 2017 I do sashimi frequently and did from early out. Rice is not on my plan and causes pain in my stomach so I don't do actual sushi.

Brandeis 401 Posted August 15, 2017 (edited) Yup, I ate 2 pieces of sushi out with some friends about 8 months out. It was fine, but really, not great for diet plan, since after 2 pieces I was stuffed. It'd be impossible to get in enough Protein eating any real amount of sushi, but I think it's okay for a 'now and then' thing. However, it's definitely something to try carefully. Maybe start by trying all the pieces of sushi on their own first: avocado, cucumber, fish, a tiny bit of rice... Edited August 15, 2017 by Brandeis
