MochaKelly 74 Posted August 13, 2017 I knew we shouldn't have celery but no more craisins? I'm gonna cry - haven't had them yet but wanted them!Mich WHw 223, SW 217 CW 192 GW 135I feel the same way. Ocean Spray has a lower sugar option. I use them for salads, especially chicken salad. I bought some to make chicken salad for my spouse next week. I am going to try a bite (no more than an ounce) to see how I fair. Sent from my XT1097 using BariatricPal mobile app
MochaKelly 74 Posted August 13, 2017 Lol! Well, I try and remove as many strings as possible from the celery. Counting up the raisins.... According to the box, 40g of raisins contains 29g net carbs. I allow myself 15g of carbs from fruit each day, so I weigh out 20g of raisins, which happens to be 57 raisins (today). Here is a picture of 20g raisins and 1oz each of nuts/seeds.I LOVE that you weigh everything! I just received a thoughtful surprise of a scale from my spouse the other day. I have not been weighing anything because I never eat a full serving of anything. For instance, if a serving of raisins is 57 as you stated, I would only eat 20. I stay well below a serving of anything other than meats. #LearningCurveSent from my XT1097 using BariatricPal mobile app

So on my plan, I can have 30g of prunes (which turns out to be 4 prunes). 2 candecaine and MochaKelly reacted to this

It's such a habit now, I don't think twice about it The serving of raisins on the box says 1/4 of a cup, so a serving for me is actually 1/8 of a cup. (Which means a "normal" serving would be 114 raisins! Lol!) Of course 20 raisins is plenty too.. I just make sure I don't go "over". 1 MochaKelly reacted to this
MochaKelly 74 Posted August 16, 2017 Guess who just had a piece of cake without wrecking my health?! My spouse and I discovered the low carb bakery while riding around two weeks ago. Two cakes come in the pack and I can only eat half of one. jess9395 5,449 Posted August 21, 2017 You eat celery AND raisins?![emoji50][emoji50][emoji50][emoji50]Those are on the list of can't haves for WLS recipients, which floored me initially. Celery is off because it is fibrous and can clog the pouch and all dried fruits are off because of the sugar content and I LOVE prunes. Sent from my XT1097 using BariatricPal mobile appWhose list?
