OMG soooo excite! Bought my Protein Powder for my liquid diet. Going to spend the next few days ordering some things I need off Amazon. Have a work conference this week, and start my liquid diet next Thursday 10/12. SOOOOO GLAD the timing on that worked out! It would have been miserable trying to faithfully do the liquid diet while at a conference lol

I'm still preparing & surgery is Wed 10/4/17. What have you ordered? Going to pack for the hospital tonight so I don't have to think about it tomorrow.

Best wishes on your journey.

When the boss tells me I need to tie up loose ends and designate people to cover my caseload... holy crap! It’s 2 weeks away! I am having trouble sleeping lately... anyone else?

My surgeon told me to get the sleeve instead of the bypass. He said that you can avoid the frequent dumping syndrome and that in his practice that sleevers lose weight at the same rate as gastrics.

My doctor told me the same thing........less complications

I'm feeling scared and excited at the same time.

We got this!!! Everyone says they were super nervous pre-op for nothing. They go to sleep, next thing they know they're on the loser's bench. Wish it was November already and we were all on the other side!

Sitting down catching up with all of your posts with my Cookies and cream Protein Shake and it is becoming a bit surreal. I have my appointment this afternoon with the second surgeon who will be working on me and as long as they give a thumbs up and my blood work is all good we should be able to start the countdown.

Cookies n cream Protein Shake that sounds so good. I will start the liquid diet on the 9th. I hope I can stick to it, I have a fatty liver anyway. So I hope there's no problem when my surgeon performs my surgery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
