hothappyheidi 6 Posted September 8, 2017 Oh man, they're having you start pretty early for the liquids! I've gotta do 2wks then the day before is Clear Liquids, so my 2wks doesn't start til 10/11. And I know what you mean about being nervous! I think my heart skipped a beat or two when I actually agreed to the surgery date haha. But I looked into this about 5 or 6 years ago but couldn't go forward (insurance didn't cover it). Now I'm ready to make it happen [emoji4] Here 3 weeks liquid is a minimum for liquid diet they do up to 12 weeks so I was very thankful for only 3....we are instructed to have 4-6 high Protein ensure and clear liquids with less then 5 calories. Will be hard but the surgery is gonna be worth itSent from my SM-G950W using BariatricPal mobile app 1 RobinJoy reacted to this

Angie's_Ocean 213 Posted September 8, 2017 12 weeks??! [emoji33]I'm on half liquids going into my 3rd month right now to keep my BS levels in check barely but full liquids for 3 months I would shoot myself! JK of course...
Keenikwe 82 Posted September 8, 2017 I don't have any liquid diet before surgery. I triple checked because of so many people reporting that they have to... my surgeon said no changes to diet prior to surgery... just not to eat after midnight the night before surgery... crazy how different each surgeon is 2 GeTnBackuP and LillieDuFran reacted to this

Angie's_Ocean 213 Posted September 9, 2017 I've had a weird thought crossing my mind since last night... I wonder what my face REALLY looks like? I mean, I've been overweight since I was 5 yrs. old. mel1214 14 Posted September 9, 2017 I'm scheduled on October 19th and so excited, but nervous about after. Trying to get enough Water when I can drink 30 mins before or after meals and can't drink with meals. We're also going to Disney World for Thanksgiving and I'm not sure if they'll let me bring Protein Shakes into the parks. That's pretty much all I'll be "eating" at that point. My surgeon strongly cautioned against any travel for at least a month after and by then you are back on regular food so your energy should be back up....we have brought food and drinks into the park before with no issue so shakes should be fine....and we also kept a cooler in the car so we could go out and get food and drinks so you shouldn't have any issuesSent from my SM-G950W using BariatricPal mobile app
rnybeauty 6 Posted September 11, 2017 What is causing you to consider switching to the sleeve [mention=324364]rnybeauty[/mention]? Just curious, feel free to talk through your thoughts with all of us [emoji4]Well I follow so many people on Instagram and see they are all successful and had the sleeve done. I do get nervous of the dumping syndrome. More people I am going to be traveling out of the country more often and there will be so many new foods! I like the fact that you can still do more normal things like take regular pills, etc. I feel that I will always have to explain myself and can't do random things. But the reasons why I chose RNY was because I do see that people get revisions and would hate that. I would just want to do it once! I also like the it is the "gold standard" and had been done the longest. And of course more weight loss than the sleeve. Just something that I am thinking about, but I think if I didn't do the RNY, I would regret it!

I've got a bit of GERD so RNY is definitely the way to go for me. But I also wanted it because of the major shift it will force me to make in my lifestyle. I know how I am, and I know I'd be able to more safely 'cheat' with a sleeve. So I'm just taking the nuclear option right from the gate haha. 3 Angie's_Ocean, FluffyChix and rnybeauty reacted to this
