makemyownluck 785 Posted August 9, 2017 I'm having surgery on September 13, and have a wedding reception for my best friend to attend on September 29. I don't suspect that I'll feel much like dancing, and she already knows that I'm having surgery and can't eat or drink, but I definitely want to be there and Celebrate this amazing part of her life. Can some of you share how you were feeling that far out? I have had several surgeries before and have a fairly high pain tolerance. This is a revision from a sleeve to the bypass, I just can't recall from when I had the sleeve how I was feeling after 2 weeks... I did go back to work after two weeks with my last surgery, so I'm guessing I'll be okay to go to a reception at 2 1/2 weeks? thoughts? 1 zallykatz16 reacted to this
mjfx2 31 Posted August 10, 2017 I'm 15 days out today. I am feeling pretty good. So things that helped me are the fact that I can get my fluids in really well. I credit that to the fact I bought 2 oz red solo cups and it reminded me to sip consistently. The other thing I did was walk. On 4 days out I began walking for 10 minutes every waking hour. Then on day 6 increased the time to 15 minutes every 2 hours. Day 10 - 20 minutes every 2 hours. I also rested in between because that promotes healing also. 2 makemyownluck and Noworneverthin reacted to this

I think I'll be okay, I'm off work to recuperate so that should help too. 1 mjfx2 reacted to this
alligus 37 Posted August 12, 2017 I think you will be fine to go... may just have to sit and rest a little bit when you feel tired (I was pretty easily worn out at that point -- I'm almost 4 months out now). Just listen to your body
AZBlackhawk 122 Posted August 12, 2017 I was fine maybe still a little tired, but nothing major. I started working after 2 weeks and work In a hospital where I walk and stand a lot. No pain at that time. You'll be good and may feel like dancing!! 1 makemyownluck reacted to this
