BunneyGirl 27 Posted August 9, 2017 I'm getting even more excited for my surgery. I find myself full of questions about the bag for the hospital, what I should pack it in, etc. I was considering a backpack that I usually use when I go to the gym. I figured I'd put together my toiletries bag with toothbrush and toothpaste, hair brush, maybe a hair tie or two, my contact lens case and solution, my eyeglass case and deodorant, and possibly some cosmetics. I've heard that when you look better, you feel better. I also thought this bag may have room for my kindle, and phone with chargers, and a small power strip. I don't want to be searching for outlets. I don't know if I'll have time to enjoy any of this, but I don't want to be bored if I can't sleep. I'm not sure what I should pack to wear home. I was thinking a trip through my local thrift store or Walmart might help me out. Drawstring pants? A loose top? what kind of shoes? It's been terribly hot and dry here in Seattle, and my surgery is Aug 25. What did you pack, or wish you would have? I am figuring on a 2 night stay at a hospital about an hour from home, in traffic. 2 LessOfDanelle and Ash_Bri85 reacted to this

Geri Marie 235 Posted August 9, 2017 Well I'm kinda a guru on hospital stays ( 2 spinal fusions, lap band) Bring your kindle, there are outlets behind your bed, but a power strip would be handy. They usually supply soap, Shampoo, all that stuff but you may not be able to shower right away. I brought pjs to wear, loose clothing. Flip flops since you wont want to bend. And a brush. Good luck on your surgery cant wait for mine....November here ugh. 2 Dmano and Ash_Bri85 reacted to this

Well I had the Lap Band back in 2010 and its been an uphill battle for me. It wasn't a great fit so I am having it removed on the 16th of this month, then my insurance requires a three month process. I have three classes, one nutrition class, and a physc appointment. But at least I have the date of November 13th. So I'm pretty excited! I just had spinal fusion on the 26th of June so I'm glad I'm going to have a couple months to fully heal. 1 Ash_Bri85 reacted to this

Roux-en-McClanahan 79 Posted August 9, 2017 I was too drugged up to read. I barely even checked my phone. I slept a lot. Definitely don't need clothes other than underwear and something to wear home. I brought night gowns I bought specially for the occasion and never wore them till I got home as I was always in a hospital gown out of necessity. Dry mouth spray was the #1 best thing I brought. Trust me, you'll need it. 3 Ash_Bri85, Mirro23 and Dmano reacted to this

You tube has many many videos of suggested things to pack. I've watched 4 or 5 and have given me some great tips and reminders Sent from my SM-S765C using BariatricPal mobile app 2 Dmano and Ash_Bri85 reacted to this
