monalyssa33 138 Posted August 8, 2017 Hey there! I'm new to this forum. I have been a member at another board, but their anti-carb philosophy made me angry and eventually the black sheep. Anyway, I had the sleeve done in February and since then I've lost nearly 75 lbs. I lost 100 pounds before surgery which I'm glad I was able to do. I'm about 45 pounds away from my goal now. I'm 31 years old, live in Minnesota with my cats and dog. I'm an avid reader and writer which is good since I work in a library. My job requires that I move a lot during the day, so not only has that helped with my loss, my loss has made my job easier. Since surgery, I've been able to take up running again, I've been on an airplane for the first time in 18 years and I was able to ride a bike without the tires flattening because of my weight. I have had no regrets and I'm so grateful to have my life back. 11 lornasaurusleeve, Ldyvenus, Noworneverthin and 8 others reacted to this

RedOrangeSunrise 53 Posted August 8, 2017 You look awesome, and so happy! I, too, hope to enjoy bike riding again and maybe even horseback riding (I love horses, but haven't been in over 10 years as I'm afraid I'd hurt the horse at my weight). I love that your post highlights the life changes as well as the new look.Sent from my Nexus 5X using BariatricPal mobile app 2 ProudGrammy and monalyssa33 reacted to this

Pam_2-06-2017 375 Posted August 10, 2017 (edited) Welcome to the forum! You look like a different person and certainly happier. You will find the low carbers here too but they are good people:-) Actually, I think there is a great balance of different perspectives. Some here have stronger opinions than others but that is what keeps the board exciting!!!! I tend to eat low carb because my body just doesn't lose weight if I have too many. I am about 35 pounds away from my goal and boy does the weight loss slow down. Again welcome... Edited August 10, 2017 by Pam_2-06-2017

We are told balanced diet no low carb! Sent from my Swift 2 using BariatricPal mobile app My daily eating is varied. I eat a lot of Greek yogurt, Peanut Butter, cheese, frozen meals (which I'm usually never able to finish and what is left is almost always is the Pasta or rice portion), I make mini pizzas with high Fiber flatbreads that I get from Aldi. I also make these Fiber One haystack Cookies that I have every night because they help keep me regular. They are just basically a bag of chocolate chips melted with a scoop of peanut butter, then I add a scoop of Protein Powder and stir in a packet of Fiber One Cereal. I put it on a plate and freeze it. They are actually surprisingly good and I look forward to them.

I love the mini pizza idea !! I will try this. I have no craving for potatoes or pasta some times I want a piece of toast. So I have less than half of one.
