Natí Beesh 8 Posted August 7, 2017 I am being sleeved next month and so afraid. AFRAID, i will regret if something bad happens. I don't wanna be in pain... or miss out on stuff socially. did anyone else feel like this , then go the surgery and felt dumb for giving themselves any doubt? 1 chynadoll619 reacted to this
chynadoll619 247 Posted August 8, 2017 Yup lol I had surgery in June.. I was having food funerals in my head! I was scared of not being able to go out and have fun.. Now I have more fun I look and feel so much better.. Food is not a big deal I won't eat or just take a bite here and there.. Alcohol I know we should wait but I'll have a shot or two.. Life is good..bim glad I didn't back out.. Like I wanted to! 62 pounds down .. And counting.. Don't put off this life changing surgery for fears and concerns you haven't even crossed yet.Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 dreamingsmall reacted to this
chynadoll619 247 Posted August 8, 2017 And pain.. There Is just no way around it.. There cutting into your body.. But walk.. Walk and take your pain meds.. And it's bearable the pain does not last long at all.. Just take it easy follow your discharge plans .. You'll be goodSent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
Missy161 395 Posted August 8, 2017 My surgery was easier than any other surgery I've had and I had 4 c section and a gall bladder removed. Pain was minimal. I agree with chynadoll- walk and take your pain meds and you will be fine.Mich WHw 223, SW 217 CW 194 GW 135 1 chynadoll619 reacted to this
dreamingsmall 1,125 Posted August 8, 2017 (edited) You dont want to be in pain.. erm.. I dont know anyone who does want to be in pain.. But its temporary. You dont want to miss out on stuff socially? I think you need to take some time and have a think why you are actually doing this. to improve your health etc, is worth the sacrifice of missing a few parties.( In my opinion) You can get back to your usual activity after recovery , eating less etc. I am 5 weeks out. And happy with my choice. I had some other doubts that yes now I think they were stupid. I was in a lot of pain like screaming crying. But not everyone does get it, id do it all again. PrayingForWeightLoss 337 Posted August 8, 2017 Every surgery or medical procedure (including tooth extractions) has potential risks. However, this surgery has become so safe over the last several years. I think it is normal and healthy to ask yourself questions. For me this has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.
