Mersh 173 Posted August 6, 2017 Probably not mentally healthy for any thing more than just fun. But! As a big dude looking to get skinny. Any others want to have a friendly compitition on weight loss. I was sleeved July 10th. We can do monthly check ins. Encourage each other though friendly rivalry. Keep the bad stuff out of our mouths and keep us excersjsing... Maybe I'm just geared up for fantasy football starting up soon that now this too has to have some competition elements. No? Just me? Ok...

gwbicster 257 Posted August 6, 2017 I personally would be against this. Everyone loses at their own pace, and your body will respond to the surgery in its own way. But, to each their own. 1 Ldyvenus reacted to this
Mersh 173 Posted August 6, 2017 (edited) @gwbicster it's less about the actual results and more about mutual support and pushing others to keep taking the right steps. Obviously people will lose at their own pace. But there is also factors we must play ourselves to ensure success... eating right, excersise etc. So I know for me having people I can "compete" with would help me do that to an even greater level. I think for most of us we all have fairly similar bad habits we need to break and then build healthy ones and this will help and encourage us with that. gwbicster 257 Posted August 6, 2017 I know and if that works for you then by all means.... For me I have the trauma as a child of my Father placing me on such "competitions" and weighing me in every Friday morning- and I remember how he reacted when I "let him down". Of course he was morbidly obese himself, so the hypocrisy was staggering. My other concern is the plethora of "lightweights" on here who get frustrated because they see how much weight "heavyweights" like us are losing, and get discouraged. Woman lose slower than men, and smaller people who have less to lose will lose slower. People should still be proud and happy and not compare themselves to people in other categories especially. So this is why I am sensitive about this. But you are doing great. 1 Mersh reacted to this
