Hi all sooooo I have had WLS and have been on this forum since then. I am also on Instagram and there is someone I've been following for a while for weight loss inspiration. Well one day while on this forum i come across this person and see they were approved for surgery and had it done not to long ago. Now they are bragging about how they are losing weight on their own and doing this and that to lose this weight....this person is deceiving their followers!!!! This person also wants to organize a weigt loss program for people to pay them to instruct them how to lose weight like this person. They show off how much weight they are losing on their IG page and I dont think it's right!!!! If you had surgery to lose weight say so don't front like you did it on your own. You had assistance!! What gets me is the deceitfulness and how they are scheming people for money!!!!!

Would you expose that person or just leave it alone?

I totally get what you mean, but some of us, like me, have a hard time sharing their personal information when it comes to the surgery. A lot of people judge. I do understand and agree that he is not being honest. But what can you do about this? What should you do about this? Probably nothing. If you have a real problem, I would send them a little note if it really bothers you, but please don't let it get into your skin. Good luck on your journey!

I'd be tempted to ask him on IG if it's true that he is having bariatric surgery. It's not right to frustrate his followers that he did it all without surgery.

They don't have to say they had surgery cause its none of our business; however, I don't think it's right to be charging folks and using their weight loss to do it. I would send a personal message and let them know you know and how you feel. Then just let it be.

I would probably expose them but I'm petty. Lol

I personally think it's very deceitful. Think about it if your out there seeking help and this person is portraying they did it all on their own and they didn't. You've paid them money to give you tips and help you. But you don't know they have a tool that's helping them. Fraud!!!

This is something that frustrates me. It's like the weight loss/fitness moguls who have Lipo in order to maintain their bodies and claim it's their product/program that got the results. I'm also the person that get's frustrated by all the weight loss/fitness posts on my FB page from friends touting that xyz works when really I have not seen them loose any weight but rather get bigger over time. Instead they are just trying to get you to purchase what ever they're selling as part of a pyramid type scheme.

I too must be petty because I'd like to call out these individuals, but then I'm too shy to do so. Now if they actually did follow a program that led to weight loss without surgery then it'd be different. Deceiving people is just not cool.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
