Thank you. I am eating a lot of the same things as you. I just worried that my NUT was wanting me to eat too many calories....

I'm curious too about what people eat 8 weeks out. My surgery is scheduled for md September, which means thanksgiving with the one noses will be about 9 weeks later. I couldn't care less about not eating the traditional meal, but I dread the thought of dealing with all the comments about why I'm not eating like I have n the past. (I haven't decided how open I am going to be about the surgery.)

Niagragirl: My doctor said that as long as I hit my Protein goals -don't worry about the calories. Right now I couldn't physically consume enough to get to 1000 --- unless I was eating junk like milkshakes, etc. I would focus on getting your protein in for now.

ZinNH: At 8 weeks you will be able to eat just about anything, just smaller quantities. Turkey will be on plan, just have a strategy for how to deal. I'm been out to eat with friends who don't know about the surgery... So far, my experience has been that people are so engrossed in conversation that no one notices that I'm eating differently.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
