I am one week post op gastric sleeve and I feel pretty good. I'm struggling to get enough liquid at times I think. And I know I'm deficient in Protein. I'm still on full liquids. The shakes don't taste the same as they did before. I feel like I'm so freaking hungry....maybe it's mental bc why on earth would anyone dream of eating frozen burritos..yet here I am doing just that. I hope it gets easier. I have two more weeks of full liquids before purée foods. Anyone have any suggestions?

Cravings for a particular food are mental. Hunger will be satisfied by anything including your Protein Shakes.< br>
Are you on a Protein pump inhibitor for acid? It can mimic hunger causing gnawing empty sensations

I've been given an Rex for Pepcid (famotadine) but I am going to talk about switching to Prilosec bc the Pepcid seems to not agree with me. Maybe this will help.

You are having Head Hunger. It's terrible at first, but it will pass. pizza ads on TV were the worst for me, but I was full on a small amount of Protein Shakes. It takes time to learn the new feelings and signals your body is sending you. Slow and easy does it. don't push your schedule. It is based on patient, nutritionist and doctors experience. The time does pass and you will progress to new foods. Hang in there, it's worth it!
