So I had surgery July 14th, 2017 and I was 228 lbs at my heaviest and a day before surgery with the cleanse I got down to 221 the next day (surgery day)....crazy. lol

Today I am 206...I've been 205-206 for like a week now...Per my doctor, I'm on a liquid diet for a whole month so I have another 11 days...I"m dying lol...I drink as much Water and liquids as I can, get Protein in and stuff but for some reason...this stall isn't breaking. Like hellooo I'm not eating, you figured I'd be losing weight right? lol

My question is --- did this happen to you all post surgery and what did you do to break a stall and when did you start seeing the scale move down again?

I miss food. I miss being able to eat with my boyfriend and family. I see everyone talking about their weight loss and just at a loss for why my progress came to a halting stop right now.

I get everyone's bodies are different and we are all at different places in our journey I just don't know when this will change.

I've been thinking to myself --- if i'm not even losing weight on this liquid diet, how will I lose weight when I actually start eating food?

Talk to me people! lol

This is a question that gets posted about 2 to 3 times a day. So it's very common to be confused on this. But think about what just happened to your body. It's gone through a trauma. When you hit your arm, what happens? Swelling, bruising and it takes days for it to go down. Well, this time you have 80% of your stomach removed and each laproscopic incision is like a knife wound. Give yourself and your body a break. You need to give it time to heal and get better so you can start working hard at losing more.

Great way to put it. Well all need to heal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
