I'm getting scared and upset

Recommended Posts

I'm getting so scared they are going to deny me. I've been following my insurances guidelines but the past two-three months I have plateaued in my weightloss. I keep changing things to try and drop the weight but aside from liquid diet idk what else to do.. I don't drink soda or alcohol I try my hardest to avoid carbs, I eat at regular times, I'm trying to be a lot more active, .. I'm so scared they will deny me for the last of weight loss... and then I was denied because the doctor didn't send in the paperwork right.. but the insurance said just have them resubmit it.. I just want this change in my life to keep moving forward. Also I don't eat much because I eat off kid size plates but I'm stuck with my weight.

Dealing with health insurance companies can be very challenging. Just persevere.

I would recommend three things.

1. Take a good before photograph of yourself, so that you have something to compare to after surgery. Many times we are blind to our obesity. We do not see ourselves. Therefore when the weight begins to drop off rather dramatically, we question if this is really happening. Photographs are a good visualization of our success. Many people carry a before and after photo with them, just to remind themselves of their success.
2. Walk 30 minutes each day, every day until surgery (or equivalent exercise). Walking helps the recovery process go smoothly and minimized the pain levels from surgery.
3. Wean yourself from caffeine and carbonated beverages now. After I gave up my 6 diet coke a day habit, I suffered from a week of severe withdrawal syndrome consisting of severe headaches and body aches. I was miserable. You don't want to combine the effects of caffeine withdrawal with the effects of surgery.

I will take a photo the day I go into surgery. I have enough "before" photos to last a life time
I don't drink soda and RARELY caffeine until it's naturally in tea I drink.

And I do try to walk that much but that's my struggle. I have been working on it.

UPDATE: so I called my dr today to see if they had sent in the new referral for the surgery. They again told me I wasn't doing the right program and that I would need to do their weight watchers program to even qualify. I got really upset and had a good 10 min. Later in the day the first of the two nutritionist I talked called to let me know the surgery center/second nutritionist called about my weight to go over things. She seemed excited so it got my hopes up but I explained all that had been happening so she called my insurance to see what was going on and I guess the lady said it shouldn't be denied but we will see and also got a comment that it looks like I'm doing good on my own. So she also seemed a bit worried that why would deny it because I'm losing weight on my own. Now I feel like im doomed if I do or don't lose weight. I need this help. I don't want this body anymore I feel like I'm dragged threw the mud.

The only good thing is I reached my first goal. I started at 352. My first goal was 330. I finally made it. -22 lbs. I don't feel like I lost 22lbs

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
