Had mine on 1/4!! First few days was painful from the gas but other than that, I’m doing well. A little sore and swollen on one side but that’s about it. Still no BM tho

i was sleeved on the 2nd and nothing happened until today. you might want to check with your doctor about no BM. He suggested I try an alternative laxative and let's just say no more issues. I first thought since we are on a liquid diet, didn't have to worry. Good luck 🍀

I’m waiting until tomorrow and then I’m going to contact him. I’m hoping I have some sort of BM soon!! The gas has eased down but nothing other than that.

Are you sore on certain spots?
Also, dumb question. Are you too scared to drink anything? I don’t know how much I’m supposed to drink...

I'm sore on the left side of my belly and my rib cage. I think that was from the gas and not being able to move.

I believe the only dumb question is the one not asked. Having said that, I haven't been afraid to drink anything after the first day but I did drink a sip of carbonated Water accidentally.....i would not recommend. Try to keep drinking your Protein Shakes.

my book says to start by drinking 4 ounces over one hour and build up slowly and remember the shakes count, yogurt counts, strained Soup counts too.

I'm not a doctor but you can try that until you contact your doctor. Good 🍀

Sending prayers for all our friends getting sleeved this week! Can't wait to hear how it went.

Remember to take your pics and measurements if you haven't yet. I did it today and it was eye opening.

Hugs!

Sending Prayers!!!! I'm being sleeved on the eleventh. Starting to get nervous! I have 4 kids under 10 and a husband. I know I'm in good hands. I didn't have a preop diet, I think because I have a lower BMI 39, but starting tomorrow I am going to do a liquid diet till Wednesday. Then I will go on a clear liquid diet. I have been looking forward to this day since I finished my Option classes through Kaiser in July. A few days to go!!! I will try to document that day so i can help others. I have been reading so much trying to be prepared.

If you are constipated you need to contact your doctor. I have heard horror stories about constpation and not getting it taken care of. Protein will make you constipated especially Protein Drinks.

Hi all, Morgen (Mo) here.
I've got my pre-op appointment scheduled for midday on January 18th with Dr. Emma Patterson at Oregon Weight Loss Surgery in Portland, OR. I'm hoping the surgery itself will be scheduled for the following week, or at least by the end of January. I'm a bit uneasy though, as I haven't lost any weight since my last weigh-in on 12/21/17, which is frustrating. Anybody have any suggestions for re-igniting a stalled weight loss? I'd really like to be down another 5lbs or more by my visit.

Hey Mo!

Good luck!
Not sure what your current diet is?
Have you tried a low carb? This tends to drop the pounds well. So lean meats and veg etc?

I had my surgery last week in Tijuana at hospital Guadalajara. It was an awesome experience! No gas pains and the nurses stayed on top of the pain meds. Dr. Pasten was the best! I had better care there than in the US!

Good luck!

Anyone else scheduled for January 2018? I have my surgery scheduled for January 11. I'm having to wait until next year because I had a stent put in back in December 2016. The anesthesiologist won't sign off until I have had the stent for at least a year and am able to come off of Plavix for the surgery.

I’m set for January 16th! I am so excited. The pre op diet is pretty tough but I’m staying positive.

Pre-op diet will help you post-op!

January 8. It should come quickly with the busy holiday schedule to keep us occupied. I also wondered about the Vitamins. I thought that I'd wait until my pre-op appointment to ask for suggestions.

Just came across your comment and wanted to say good luck tomorrow!!!

I've been on a modified liquid diet for the last 6mos., which consists of 3-4 Premier Protein shakes, and one lean and green solid meal, no carbs beyond what's in the shakes/clean food. My total calorie intake is not supposed to exceed 950-1000/day. I am so sick of it. I think my body might be too, and that's why it's kind of stuck? I'm only down 2lbs from my last appointment on 12/21/17, and I had lost 26lbs from my November appointment to the December one. I'm really, REALLY worried that the surgeon is gonna change her mind if I don't have more weight loss by my appointment. :-(

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
