Supernovae 34 Posted August 1, 2017 Hey, I'm having my surgery in a couple weeks and want to know if anyone has worked from home after their surgery? I have just come back from annual leave and this surgery is kinda fast moving and I didn't expect to be booked in so fast. I can't take any leave so planning on working from home. I'm just worried I'll be so sleepy
Missy161 395 Posted August 1, 2017 I worked from home- my brain wasn't normal though right away- foggy, forgetful just not all there. I could work for short stints but because I work in a troubleshooting, figured out what went wrong kind of job I wasn't at my best. If you can take lots of breaks and rest you should be able to do it.Mich WHw 223, SW 217 CW 195 GW
CraftyScientist 6 Posted August 1, 2017 Yes, it really depends on your job. I have a friend who was back in 5 days, but she's got a desk-type job; she said she was extremely tired due to the low caloric intake & practically zero Protein & carbs that week, but she was otherwise fine. Myself on the other hand, I took 8 weeks. That's what my doc recommended, and I work in a busy hospital laboratory where I'm standing most of the day. I felt strong enough to go back after about 3 weeks, but my mother passed away 2 weeks after my surgery so I stayed out for the full 8 weeks to take care of all of that. Good luck! Pescador 1,374 Posted August 1, 2017 I drove and walked a mall 4 days after my 8 hours in the hospital for sleeve. I was not sleepy. I was 67 then.
