Supernovae 34 Posted August 1, 2017 Hey, I'm having my surgery in a couple weeks and want to know if anyone has worked from home after their surgery? I have just come back from annual leave and this surgery is kinda fast moving and I didn't expect to be booked in so fast. I can't take any leave so planning on working from home. I'm just worried I'll be so sleepy
daats 6 Posted August 1, 2017 I had my surgery on a Saturday and was sent home on the Monday. I took off the rest of that week and then worked from home for three weeks until I was cleared to travel. I work in IT so this was easy for me to work from my bed. If it's an option for you do it.

I just had my surgery a week ago and I hardly had ny need to take my pain meds. I am walking around and the pain is to a minimum.
ruthkilbo 10 Posted August 1, 2017 I had my op on a Wednesday and was working from home again 5 days later with no problems. All the best for your surgery
kcvasquez 39 Posted August 2, 2017 I was wondering the same thing. I actually do home daycare and can't take much time off because it leaves all of my families without care. I've already taken quite a few days off this year even before I knew I would have surgery.

You're still healing it's just mostly on the inside and everyone is different. My surgery went off like clockwork and I was back to work in 2 weeks. My husband just had same surgery and surgeon July 18th and they had to go back in last night to repair a leak. He now has a J tube for feeding and will be out 6-8 weeks now. AZBlackhawk 122 Posted August 4, 2017 I was feeling pretty good for a few days after surgery, but on day 5, I crashed. I took a hard nap for 4-5 hours. I think it was drinking Clear Liquids only and trying to walk and move a lot. Maybe I wasn't letting myself rest enough the first few days but day 5 was rough for me!! Once I could have a Protein Shake and eat a little food I was so much better.
blondie66 271 Posted August 4, 2017 If you're working at a desk should be okay. Just remember to get in your daily walks.
