arcwls 27 Posted July 31, 2017 Hi All, My partner is the only one that knows I am going through with surgery. I'm happy with this as it's my business and my family can be judgmental and will say this is unnecessary/ extreme when I should just 'lose weight on my own'. I've been looking on the forums for a while, so I thought I'd make an account as I have questions and things I want to talk about.I am due to be sleeved in Perth in late October this year. I am currently sitting around the high 90kgs mark and am looking to lose 30kgs. Anyone else out there like me? crushingit 24 Posted August 27, 2017 My surgery date is set for Oct 10 but will be confirmed on Sept 18 when I attend my appointment with the surgeon. I asked for a date because I'd like to give some (informal) notice at uni. 1 arcwls reacted to this

I have been as high as 125 but now in the 90s. I’m hoping this finally fixes things for me. Good luck to you in your weight loss [emoji846] 2 arcwls and LailaM reacted to this

Constipation has been an issue but putting benefibre in foods and trying to keep up my Protein requirements . I've lost 12kg since the 1st September . That's such great news! [emoji1305]My surgery is in 12 days and I've been so nervous. Had my Dietician consult today and I start my pre op diet on Saturday (last meal will be Friday night and then goodbye to Vietnamese for a while!) My concern has been constipation for sure too, Dietician said a stool softener is the way to go and I'll be using that for sure. 12kg is a great feat! Well done [emoji1319]

Mines pretty soon (pre-op diet starts this weekend) all happening so fast!! [emoji33]Good luck to you too! [emoji1303]

Bournebug 0 Posted November 21, 2017 Hi all I had surgery 7 weeks ago with dr couch who recommended a restrictor be used This limits your intake to half a cup for the rest of your life, the rest of your life was not mentioned at the time ! I don’t think there was enough information and talk about what this would mean. I’m coping but have some serious depression issues these last 2 weeks. Will have to get out of this mind set. Cooking was a great joy to me and for the moment I have lost the joy bugger!! Has anyone on this forum had the restrictor inserted at surgery I& so I would really like to know how your going and maybe some advice. I have lost 20 kg with another 20 to go. I'm in Perth and had my VSG performed on 17th October - by Prof Hamdorff at Hollywood Hospital. Recovery has been amazing and no complications. I was back at work after 2 weeks and cleared to start exercising again at 3 weeks (seeing a PT twice a week and working out on my own for another 2-3 days a week). I've just come out of a 2+ week stall with no weightloss, but hovering at about 11kgs down so far. Yesterday marked 6 weeks out and it's flown! How are you doing now? 1 arcwls reacted to this

How are you doing now?Oh wow that sounds fantastic! 🤩So glad your recovery went well. Things were a bit hit and miss for me but I’m glad I kept pushing on. I had issues with medications, water intake then pace once I was on the food plan after liquid phase...I had a lot of vomiting but I’m getting better now! [emoji846] My Dietician has me lots of helpful tips and advice. I’m over the one month (5weeks) post op mark and down 12kg and now focusing on my protein intake and upping exercise! Looking forward to the next 17-18kg coming off and toning up (feeling a tad wobbling haha). All the specialists I’ve seen have been really great. I also started seeing a Psych a few months before o started my journey and that combined with the physical improvements... I’m feeling good!Time is flying past! Not long until I look back and I’m a year post op! [emoji33][emoji847]
