I would love to hear the responses to this thread. I was sleeved last Wednesday, not even a week yet. I have never felt so many strong hungry pains in my life. I wake up hungry which is very unusally for me. One morning it was so bad I ate one chewable Calcium Vitamin at 5:30am to keep from eating something unhealthy. Now that's bad. LOL

Is it possible it is acid in your stomach you are feeling that sometimes, to me, feels like hunger, but is actually reflux? Are you taking a PPI like Protonix? Talk to your team - I didn't know until my endoscopy that I had reflux - never really felt it - and now post surgery if I don't take my PPI, I get a feeling that is like "hungry" was prior to surgery.

I'm in the same boat. I think it's because my Water intake is low. I've been on a stall for two months and then started logging my calories. I got down to 199 in April then shot back up to 209, got stuck there for two months and then finally lost 5 pounds just recently. I've been stuck here for about 2 weeks. By logging my water intake I noticed I'm barely getting in about 32 ounces or less. Hopefully something changes in the next few weeks.

I have days like that and it usually is a sign at least for me that I haven't been keeping up with my liquid intake. Once I get it back up the next day I'm good. 3 days shy of 9 months post op.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
