CherryBombCutie95 1 Posted July 31, 2017 (edited) Hello, I'm planned on heading to college to get my BSN to become a registered nurse After my WSL. But recently I've been having doubts, because I know my whole body will be different afterwards. Even though currently it's easy for me to stay up hours at a time at night that might not be the case after the surgery. I'm going to be having gastric bypass and I just wanted to know if there are any nurses who have had the surgery and are working right now and if they could give me some feed back. I don't want to waste four years of my life working towards the goal of a job my new body won't be able to handle. Charlie75 82 Posted July 31, 2017 I'm an RN and I had my surgery 6/7/17. I'm fine. You will do better with all the standing after the weight loss. HW: 265SW: 250CW: 215 1 CherryBombCutie95 reacted to this

PrayingForWeightLoss 337 Posted July 31, 2017 Cherry you will be fine. I got sleeved July the 28th so I am a newbie. However, I have worked with over 10 sleeved nurses over a number of years and they were all fine. Worked with no restrictions. I only know one bypass who had major issues but she had other health problems before and I think the surgery made some of these issues worse.
James Marusek 5,244 Posted July 31, 2017 After surgery, I found that my stamina [the ability to perform physical labor] increased dramatically. I am almost 70 and can work like I was 30. So you will be fine after the first couple months. 1 Paigetherage reacted to this
