I'm 11 days post op and I feel completely normal. I'm tolerating all my food. My program is a clear liquid for the first week, then full liquid for 2 weeks. I'm currently on full liquid. I'm trying to eat slower, but 4oz of Soup goes down quicker than it's supposed to i think. Did anyone else have no problems with tolerating the early stages? I feel like I'm recovering abnormally fast. Maybe I'm just over thinking everything.

Hi fellow weirdo. I was just like you. I'm almost nine weeks out and it's still the same. I can tolerate anything. I didn't feel any restriction until I started eating regular food. Even though I could not feel it I still only ate what I was supposed to.
I think it's a good thing really. In any event, definitely don't worry about it. This weirdo's sleeve is working and I'm losing weight. [emoji16]

Your body is reacting the way it wants to and that is fine. For some, fluids go down really easy - including Soup, yogurt, etc. I remember when I went to puree/softs - I was so excited for that first scrambled egg. I ate two small forkfuls and thought I was going to die I was in so much pain. That was when I learned about eating slowly. As you move to your next stage be very mindful to pace yourself.

Best of luck.

I'm envious of those who have no problems with liquids. I know my new sleeve is still healing but man....every single sip spins my gut into spasm. It sucks and takes forever to drink anything!

I'm so sorry you're having a hard time. A friend of mine had her sleeve done on 7.25 and is also having issues with liquids. Just keep going. It's all worth it in the end!

Oh no you're scaring me!!!! I will be sure to be careful and go slowly. I'll be back to work when I'm on pureed/soft foods. Maybe I'll eat Breakfast at home initially instead of bringing it to work, just in case it doesn't go well. Thanks for the heads up!

I am the same way and I'm 4 weeks out. At 2 weeks I even started pushing my intake to see if there was indeed a limit.. I can confirm to you all... There is... Its science.

I'm on puree now and its awesome. Even though weirdly enough I tried a scrambled egg the other day and had a bite and wanted to puke.... which is weird because 2 days prior I had eggs and was golden... The body has a mind of its own.

Good luck

Doesn't sound weird at all. I feel much the same and asked my surgeon about it - he tells me it's perfectly normal and we're still taking in vastly reduced volumes.

It feels wring because people here, completely understandably, are more likely to be looking for advice or sympathy for problems - and when you read nothing but that they sound like 'normal'. It's important to keep that perspective and try not to worry where you don't need to.

I remember I would have crying spurts, because it would take two hours just to eat a Oikos. I was on the phone w/ my surgeon every other day, because I kept worrying about the time it took to sip sip sip and nibble nibble nibble. How much of your stomach did the Dr. take, I had 85% removed.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
