Weight in the low 200lbs before surgery

I was told 800 till goal. What made you increase at 6m?

I actually started increasing my intake at 4 months out.

I chose to increase my intake early in my weight loss phase for a number of reasons:

  1. I wanted to preserve my metabolism. Those who keep their intake too low for too long sometimes end up metabolically challenged and easily regain weight if they eat more than 1200 calories daily.
  2. Active bodies demand more fuel. A combination of too much exercise and not enough food spells disaster.
  3. I decided I wouldn't deprive myself of food. Deprivation leads to intense cravings, binges, and so forth. I prefer to be a sleeved person who can blend into a non-sleeved society.

This makes sense. I'm disabled so don't move much my surgeon and team know that. But 6 weeks out il start some adaptable excersise.

Your 5.0 I don't think normal BMI is 140 as I'm 5.2 normal BMI for me is 136/137lbs.

But I bet you look great. I think people look normal weight about 28 BMI.
My sw was 244 now 224 about my surgery was 4th July. Would love to know what you eat etc. And how you feel being a normal size do people treat you different.

I used a specific BMI chart based on my age, height, weight. I guess because I'm older, the healthy end was 140. I look & feel great but now that I'm at goal, I want to lose more (be at 125 lbs - 130 lbs).

Height: 5'0"
Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs.
Surgery date: 2/13/17
Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs).
Current weight: 145 lbs, now ready to lose 15 more past goal.
My profile picture is not me. It's my "FITspiration" body.

I forgot to answer this. The first 3 months I ate what I was supposed to eat according to my dietitian's plan for me (protein, no fat, no carbs except non-starchy vegetables). When I came in on my 3 month followup, I'd lost already 68% of my excess weight (or excess fat). The goal for my doctor is for his clients to lose 30 - 50% in their first year & I surpassed it. The week before my 4th month post-op I drank alcohol for the 1st time (was on my anniversary vay day) & have been following the Atkins & Ketos diet. The only starch I eat is the occasional potato, but that's less than 2 oz a serving. My serving size is still small, about 5 oz a meal. And I exercise 3-5 days a week.

I feel great. I was obese since 2008 & got the solution for it this year with WLS. I was never obese before that so people that knew me back then say I'm looking like my old self. My new friends I met after 2008 are proud of me. I don't think people treat me that much differently. I've always acted confident & have a big personality so people treat me based on how I am, not my looks (thankfully). I've always ignored haters when I was fat & will still ignore them now that I'm thinner. I keep positivity around me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
