Plateau Busting Diet

Recommended Posts

OK so I've been "plateau'd" for 2 weeks now and still a little over a week away from my 2nd fill so I thought I'd try this plateau busting diet ... Has anyone else tried it and does it work?? When it says 45g Protein supplement, is that in addition to the high protein foods listed?? Anyone know?

How to break a plateau

#1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau

#2 - Drink 2 quarts of Water a day

#3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your

vitamins/minerals supplements each day

#4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods,

5x a day

beef

pork

chicken

turkey

lamb

fish

eggs

low fat cheese

cottage cheese

plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?)

peanut butter

beans/legumes

You may also have:

sugar free popsicles

tea or coffee

sugar free soda

sugar free jello

broths/bullion (sp?)

crystal light drinks

#5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!!

#6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily

I'm sorry but there's absolutely no way I'd do that to my body. That's awfully unhealthy! That's just fad dieting that does not result in real and lasting weight loss. You'll drop a ton of Water that will show on the scales and really, what's the point in that? So you eat nothing but meat or other Protein sources for 10 days? No fruit, no veg, no fibrous foods?

I always find adding more exercise and recommitting to good eating works for me. Back to 3 meals per day NO extras, and adding in a good long walk as well as my usual runs and circuits gets me moving again.

Like shit, plateaus happen. I tend to plateau for months and months at a time, and trust me - there's no "sure fire" way to get it moving again. You just have to wait for your body to be ready.

Most plateaus aren't plateaus, they're dieters/eaters slipping into old habits and either not realizing it, or not being honest about it. But sometimes the body is just done giving up fat for a bit.

BTW, 2 weeks isn't a plateau. It's not even a stall. It's typical & should be expected. Honestly, don't think twice about it.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
