Massive stomach ache. Warning TMI

Recommended Posts

I hate having to post this but I need some help. I am 4 weeks post op and having some issues.

Since yesterday I have felt absolutely awful. I've had diarrhea, a massive stomach ache and everything I put in my stomach hurts. Even when I bend down it hurts. I have no fever, no chills and my heart rate is normal. Have any of you gone through this?

You should call your surgeon's office. If you can't even keep liquids down you could get dehydrated and being only 4 weeks out-call!

yes, contacting your surgeon's office is the way to go. WIth this kind of physical issue you should always ask your surgeon's office.

I just contacted my Dr.'s office and they have put me back on a liquid diet till this passes. I need to watch my pee for the next day to make sure it's not super dark, if so I will be sent to the ER for an IV.

Oh good, I'm so glad you called! I know it seems like you don't want to bother them but it's important to reach out when you are in physical distress. I made a total nuisance of myself but I didn't care because in the long run me being healthy and safe was my end goal - and theirs too. Good luck! I hope you are feeling better soon!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
