teacher475 31 Posted October 31, 2017 Such great support! Thank you! I feel better that others share my concerns. I am very emotional right now as well. I begin pre-op diet tomorrow and I'm mourning the loss of my old friend food. Life will be totally different and It is definately good advice to keep eyes on the prize. I just feel like I'm a hot mess lately. Let's keep this support going. It's so good to hear from others in the same boat! Thank you. 3 Maryvsg87, LylaLovesCoffee and BusyMom945 reacted to this

Hamera360 4 Posted October 31, 2017 I have the same feelings. Just waiting for the other shoe to fall off. And it's not a nice feeling. Yesterday I felt as if I was overly full after dinner eventhough I followed the pre-operative quantity of food. I still feel as if I have had no development in my liver size Sent from my SM-N910F using BariatricPal mobile app 1 LylaLovesCoffee reacted to this

You first and I'll follow along behind you.
bogglesauce 238 Posted October 31, 2017 My weight loss during my pre-op liquid diet has slowed down a bunch. At first I was losing at least 1lb+ a day. Now it's like half a pound or no change. Is this normal? I've been following all the rules!

Just stick to it and it'll help you develop the habits needed for when you have your surgery. Good luck! 2 JCKlgl123 and confusedturtle3 reacted to this

JCKlgl123 53 Posted November 1, 2017 (edited) Hey all! I saw my dentist last week and thought this would be a good place to share what I've learned. Hopefully it helps you research, prepare, or prompt a conversation with your dentist. Apparently, tooth decay and tooth loss after surgery is a common thing. There are a bunch of reasons for this, vomiting, Vitamin deficiency, etc.. I'm pretty fond of my smile and I refuse to let this happen to me! I hate Water and my nutritionist said, try True Lemon - it's natural and safe. But, what I've now learned, from a dental perspective, is that it's full of citric acid which will eat away at my tooth enamel. So I have to suck it up, drink the water, and add the True Lemon as a treat. (Totally derails my water after surgery game plan - but I will have teeth) Haven't had a fluoride treatment in I can't tell you how long, but now this will become part of my 6 month check up to better protect my teeth. Also, I was instructed to use mouthwash with fluoride. This is some of what I learned. Not saying it'll apply to everyone but it's something to think about.
