Best flavorless protein powder?

Recommended Posts

So I've realized that I'm not going to survive on Protein Shakes much longer without going mad, so was looking for some reccos for flavorless Protein powders that I could mix in with my broth, sugar free pudding, etc? Any recommendations?

Would also love if anyone has favorite protein waters they'd recommend!

Thanks in advance :)

Unflavored protein....Some people like Unjury. I like Syntrax Nectar's Unflavored. I'm sure there are many others. They're the two I'm aware of off the top of my head.

I hesitate to even say this. I got some back talk from talking about it before. But...I have tried many Proteins and couldn't do them. Until I found GENEPRO I add it to my Espresso everyday. Some say that it isn't good because they say it has 30grams of Protein in 1 tablespoon. Even Bariatric store on here sells it. I buy my on line. If you are worrid about it ask your Dr first. It is the only unflavored protein I have found that mixes well and doesn't taste bad. Good Luck

Curious, how are your protein levels? If they're good then who cares what anyone says. I used Unjury and my levels are in normal range. Now I'm eating food and curious to see what they are. I'll have them checked in a month.

This is probably a dumb question, but is there concern that your Protein could become too high? I'm a modified DS-er myself so that probably isn't a huge concern for me.

Hi there, I'm just a noob and pre-op, but have experimented pretty extensively with Protein isolates (flavored and unflavored). My current unflavored protein isolate crushes are: Isopure Unflavored Protein Powder and Synthrax Unflavored Protein powder. I use it for drink concoctions as well as mixing it in different foods to enhance the protein profile of a dish. I figure if I practice using them now, I will have more go-to choices post-surgery and avoid the likelihood of crises. I mix the unflavored powders in broths/soups/V-8 and gently warm them (so the protein doesn't clump). That way I satisfy my need for savory rather than sweet.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
