What to do for my birthday?

Recommended Posts

My birthday is coming up at the end of this month and I will be one month out of surgery (won't have my 1st fill yet). Birthdays in mine and DH's family usually involves going out to eat or someone cooking a big meal. Any suggestions for what would be something I could eat by then (I will be on soft foods) that everyone else could eat too? Or suggestions for something we could do besides eat? We live in a smaller city so there is not a whole lot to do entertainment-wise. Plus, there will be a little one (my 2 year old niece) and I don't want to do anything that she could not be a part of.

Hmm, that's a hard one. I'd say go to a movie or play, but that would exclude the 2 year old. I dunno what you guys could do. Everything I could think of, the 2 year old wouldn't enjoy.

these are probably lame suggestions, but here it goes: horseback riding, zoo (2yr. old would like the petting zoo), weekend trip, hiking, movie, play, go out dancing, etc.

As far as cooking a meal, try chicken casserole and green Beans. This should go down fine. Lowfat cheesecake or pudding pie instead of birthday cake.

Hope this helps and happy birthday early.

Go to a restaurant serving, or prepare, fondue. I find it's an ideal bandster food while at the same time, fun, provides plenty of time to socialize, etc. You can fondue veggies until they're mushy, fondue the meat and blend it into some sauce for mushy, etc. The young'en can help, or you can give her a separate fondue, say velveeta, or chocolate, on dull popsicle sticks. Oh hell I don't know, I'm not kid savvy, can 2 year olds dip a stick, or are they still eating things like cheerios out of a high chair? I really don't know.

If someone cooks a big meal, suggest they do finger foods. Lots of finger foods come in "mushy." Then you can do movies or something.

I'm thinking about doing a game night. I LOVE board games. And my niece would probably be satisfied watching Dora while we play...lol. I was thinking of the finger/snack food type thing too. I will be exactly one month out from surgery on the day we have it. Would I be able to eat stuff like maybe quesadillas, chips/dip, appetizer type foods.....anything like that?

My dr gave me a list of 2 weeks of liquids and 2 weeks of mushies but nothing specific after that and it will be just over 4 weeks.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
