Hair dye after surgery ?

Recommended Posts

I want to dye my hair since I noticed I started getting gray hairs (I'm 27)

I read somewhere about not dying hair for 1 year after surgery.

Any advice?

I'm 9 days post op.

Thank you

What? Oh man. I've already been to the salon and had highlights for summer. I'll let you know if I die [emoji23]
Hope this isn't true!

I have dyed my hair twice since surgery. I was not given any advice like this at all.

in my pre-op classes they said that you will lose hair at around the 6 month mark (no matter what). They said its not enough that other people notice, but you will start noticing it in your brush and in your drain and they told us not to freak out. If you normally lose hair when you get it dyed, then it will cause more Hair loss than you otherwise would. However, they said by the 1 year mark you will be back to normal. I have super thin hair naturally, but I will be dying my hair before school starts because I figure I will lose what I will lose and having gray hair makes me self conscious.

I won't be planning to .. before I get into surgery I'm gonna dye it my natural color and just lots of treatment.

5 weeks and 2 days post-op and I'm getting highlights today. I'll let you know if it leads to any Hair loss or other stuff.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
