dcgoodson623 1 Posted July 25, 2017 I wait the full 30 minutes post eating and I drink something. Then, I feel like I have to vomit. This is not happening all the time, but most of it. I'm also struggling to get my Protein in. I'm about 7 weeks out. I thought it would get easier.
Berry78 4,261 Posted July 25, 2017 I frequently have to wait an hour or two to drink after eating a heavy meal. Because of this, I'll drink right up until just a few minutes before I eat. If you start feeling dehydrated, you can always go back on full liquids for a day (no waiting to drink at all). Things will gradually get easier, in the meantime, think outside of the box to get what you need.. 2 MSinger and southernbellair79 reacted to this

MSinger 348 Posted July 25, 2017 I agree with @Berry78's advice. Try drinking right up to the minute you eat. I do this per my surgeon's instructions and feel fine when eating. However, if I have even a sip of Water after I've eaten I feel it. I typically have to wait about 45mins after eating to start drinking again. 1 southernbellair79 reacted to this
dcgoodson623 1 Posted July 26, 2017 Thank you all for the suggestions. Waiting an hour seems to be working a lot better. I don't know why my surgeon's office said half an hour. I really appreciate the support. I was at my wit's end. So sick of throwing up.
