So I know this is only my second day post op, but my stomach is growling like crazy. Has anyone else experienced this?

It's due to increased hydrochloric acid (a.k.a. stomach acid) production. In addition, your stomach is still healing. Expect for the growling to be present for at least a few weeks if not longer.

The people on either side of my cubicle can still hear my stomach growl. They have finally stopped verbally commenting after 5 months , but now send me IMs with unwitty remarks - feed that thing before it attacks someone, etc.. :68_sleeping:

Omg yes it's been 7 days since my Gastric Bypass and I'm so hungry my stomach started growling after I came home and has been doing it ever since

It probably isn't because you are hungry though. It is just acid and sometimes we mistake that for true hunger.

I am glad to know I am not the only one with a loud stomach. I thought mine was so loud partially because it is no longer buried under so much fat.

I wonder if our stomachs are louder because they are concentrated to such a smaller area and the part we are left with is the more muscular stronger tissue not the thinner looser tissue that is cut away.
