I was sleeved July 12, 2017
I've had a hard time getting liquids down. But today, day 12, I can swallow a lot better, not feeling that fullness so quick
Is this normal? Seems I can get 4 oz. Of food down easily..

On liquids you should be able to get as much as you wish into you, and you will not feel restriction. 4oz of food however is a bit much for day twelve. You should be eating 4oz 6 months out.

I have noticed the softer the food is, the easier to get near 3-4 oz, but no, 4oz is a bit much. Try measuring out 4oz and eating only half.

Your stomach is still numb from having had nerves cut. Even though yogurt is soft, you don't want to irritate things by going too quickly. Try to eat half the yogurt, then eat the other half a couple hours later. The v8 should be fine since it is a liquid. Going slow and easy now will pay dividends later.

Ok thanks. I think the problem has been, Iam not eating soon enough. I'm pretty busy and go long periods thru meals. Iam allowing myself to get too hungry? So, I going to write down a timeframe,of when to eat and when to drink
I think that will help

I think the rule of thumb is to eat every 3-4 hours- kind of like a baby :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
