melty29 33 Posted July 28, 2017 I am with you! I find no enjoyment in anything right now except for the fact that I am down 31 pounds. I have been sick and any time I eat something I get reflux. I know that this is temporary and I was told to expect this, but it kind of sucks. The only thing that keeps me going is the weight loss. Also, I am obsessed with how many calories and Protein I am getting....oh well at least its a healthy addiction.[emoji4]I had pain after almost meal. My dr switched me from Pepcid to Prilosec. It really helped. It might be something to try. Good luck.
teacupnosaucer 445 Posted July 28, 2017 I think part of the issue is all our lives fun HAS been food. I know it was for me! I couldn't do a lot of activities because of my lack of endurance, low self esteem, and body pain, shopping was miserable... why wouldn't I find fun in something I COULD do and find rewarding: eating out, going for drinks, having a big popcorn at the movies? it's true. food isn't as fun anymore. it's not fun to count calories. it's not fun to be Protein first all the time. it's not fun to skip soda at the theatre or dessert at dinner or fried anything. but it's fun to play soccer with my husband and go dancing and shopping at the mall with my friends. it's fun to go to the beach with my kids. if I look at my life according to what used to make it worthwhile: all the great stuff I got to eat, then yeah my life kinda sucks now. but the truth is, I have a much fuller life otherwise at this smaller weight and healthier body. I get to do so much! this journey is hard work. it REALLY isn't enjoyable at times. that's when you need to focus on the rewards. 3 erisp, ClareBear1 and Sosewsue61 reacted to this
goshesgaunt 15 Posted July 29, 2017 I feel ya, I'm in the same boat. I can't complain about a 20 lb weight loss. And I had a super easy time of it post-op BUT it's no fun! I look forward to a meal only to be able to eat 3 bites. And gosh I'm sick of Water.
Moechin 4 Posted July 31, 2017 I'm 6 wks post op and have lost 35 lbs. Had no energy for the 1st few weeks but starting to pick up. I have a problem with the Vitamins, everything tastes chalky and gross. Any suggestions for a decent Multivitamin? calcium citrate? I should be advanced to regular diet in a week or so. I have hit 2 plateaus already, is this normal? 1 monicaholbrook reacted to this

monicaholbrook 8 Posted July 31, 2017 I had my sorry on the same date. I've lost 37lb. I'm in the same boat. I bought some Gummy vitamins; v-b12, calcium citrate with vD3, women multivitamin, women hair and nails, also Biotin. But I spread these through out my day, its way too much to take at one time. I still struggle with my Protein and Water intake, but I do manage to get it down. I also walk every chance I get, I'm still working on making it a habit. It's hard, just take one day at a time. After all we are learning our new self, our new stomach. Sent from my LG-K540 using BariatricPal mobile app

Carrie1122 139 Posted July 31, 2017 I am 2 months out and I went from 200 lbs to 170 was feeling worried that I was not loosing more is this normal? There are days whenI gain back 1 to 3 lbs then they come off but I feel like I am stuck today I feel bloated scared to get back on the scale[emoji30]We all go through this, trust me. The gain then it just goes away with another pound or two. I am still experiencing this 6 months out.. you have to listen to your body, I been tracking it. If I haven't gone to the bathroom in a long time like a week. I'm bloated, I go up and down on the scale. After I go, not bloated, and that Water weight just drops and another pound or two. If I am on period I am stagnant. So I have about 2 1/2 weeks of pure weight that does not interfere with the changes of my body.

I just don't want any of it. I just stick with yogurt and water and raw veggies. I eat meat on the weekends.
Heatco 9 Posted July 31, 2017 I'm 2 months out - down 30lbs since surgery - fantastic [emoji106]-- it's not overly hard, no pain, but it's just no fun - I hate cooking, I certainly know how to cook, I just don't find any enjoyment and avoid at all cost -- so having to be constantly trying to learn new recipes, then to find out, ptewwwy taste buds have changed and another gross meal --/ what a weird journey, but definitely no regrets - I'm so looking forward to seeing me thinner -- just not having much fun right now [emoji850]I suggest an air fryer. They are all the rage lol. My dad had the sleeve a year ago and makes everything in the air fryer and quickly! I tried his scallops and they were amazing! I think it took 8 minutes! My parents just bought me one and I'm sure to use it when I'm on foods. (Sleeve 8.8.17). Good luck!
Maryland135 6 Posted August 2, 2017 Today is 8 days post op and I am moving to full liquids but my biggest issue is I feel exhausted. I saw a recipe using thin chicken cutlet 1 low fat mozzarella string cheese couple spinach leaves and slice of red pepper. Roll it up and back. I thought it sounded good. LittleLizzieLilliput 919 Posted August 2, 2017 (edited) I buy the rotisserie chicken's at the grocery store for 5 to 7 dollars, that last me all week and tastes amazing. I just carve a chunk off of it and put it in the toaster oven wrapped in tinfoil with some of the juices to heat up for 10 minutes, whammo!! Fantastic!! I also by the Hormel black label pre-cooked bacon and a ripe avocado. I microwave the bacon for about 22 seconds, Press as much of that grease is possible with paper towels. And then snack on some bacon and half to a quarter of avocado. My cholesterol is fine. It tastes so good and all Protein. You might want to pick up some Atkins frozen meals for those 'I need to eat but don't want to cook' moments. I've had many moments like those, because, well, I'm not in the mood to cook quite often. One tray equals two meals. My favorite one is the roast turkey and cauliflower mash.
